Background: This Sign Language and Deaf Culture Experience Workshop aims to enhance the social inclusivity through understanding Deaf culture and cultivating empathy; to provide museum volunteers with insights into the value and challenges of Deaf culture; to foster respect and understanding towards the Deaf community; and to enable museum volunteers to better understand the needs of Deaf individuals when providing services.
Details:
- Teach basic sign language
- Explain Deaf culture and share interesting facts about sign language
- Experience the daily life of Deaf individuals
- Allow volunteers to interact with Deaf individuals firsthand to dispel misconceptions
*Training workshop will be conducted in Cantonese, supplemented by bilingual presentation slides in Chinese and English.

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 noon on 12 August 2024 (Monday). Any late submission will not be considered.
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants.
The successful
applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 19 August 2024 (Monday).
The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
