Background: This year, the Lantern Festival coincides with a total lunar eclipse, and the Space Museum is preparing a special night that blends astronomy with Chinese culture. Participants will first attend a lecture in the Lecture Hall to learn about the phases of the lunar eclipse and related astronomical knowledge. Afterwards, they will view the eclipse on the rooftop using telescopes. In the lobby, there will be a booth for guessing astronomy-themed riddles, allowing everyone to enjoy the Lantern Festival while testing their wits and exploring the mysteries of the night sky.

Requirement:

- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English preferred - Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner - Form 5 or above - Priority will be given for whom have experience in astronomy education; or providing services in Hong Kong Space Museum or Hong Kong Science Museum - Required to attend the briefing and preparation session to familarise with the service details |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 6 February 2026 (Friday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 11 February 2026 (Wednesday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
