Background: 

The Hong Kong Space Museum features two exhibition halls, namely the "Hall of the Cosmos" and the "Hall of Space Exploration", which together showcase approximately a hundred exhibits. The Museum also regularly organises special exhibitions on various themes, aiming to introduce the visitors to the knowledge of astronomy and space science.

The Museum invites volunteers to provide fixed-point interpretation services, explain the fascinating science behind the highlighted exhibits, and ensure that visitors have an interesting and educational visit. 


Details:

-         To provide fixed-point interpretation services

-         To explain the science behind the exhibits and how to use them properly

-         To provide customer service to visitors and answer enquiries

Date: 6 July 2025 – 28 September 2025 (every Sunday)

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Location: Exhibition halls and special exhibition of Hong Kong Space Museum

(10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui)

No. of volunteers required: 3 persons

Requirement:   

-         Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English

-         Polite and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good customer service manner

-         Form 5 or above (persons who have studied science subjects are preferable)

-         Priority will be given to volunteers who have attended the briefing session of "Hong Kong Space Museum: Fixed-Point Docent Services" on 11 June 2024 or 4 March 2025

-         Details of the service and exhibit docent manual will be sent to successful applicants via email later.

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 30 May 2025 (Friday).

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 18 June 2025 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
