Background: The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will launch the first Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month 2025 (香港非遺月2025) (“HKICH Month 2025” thereafter) in June this year. Highlighting the theme “Intangible Cultural Heritage is everywhere in Hong Kong" (香港處處有非遺), this programme aims to bring out that ICH can be seen everywhere in the city and inspire the public and tourists to learn more and experience the cultural value and fun of the Hong Kong ICH.
As
one of the featured programmes of the ICH Month 2025, the Carnival will bring
ICH to the Shatin District. In an array of performances, interactive booths,
etc., the Carnival aims to attract participants of all ages, enhance public
engagement, elevate the visibility of ICH and promote the transmission and passing
on of culture.
Details:
- In conjunction with the ICH picture books series, storytelling sessions will be organised to share ICH stories and introduce related knowledge with family participants.
- To assist in running carnival activities

Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
- Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner

- Priority will be given for those who have working experience in education/ storytelling activities
- Priority will be given for those who have participated in the MVS Training: Intangible Cultural Heritage Office (MVST20241102)
Briefing
*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to
learn more about the service details.

Location: Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre (Sam Tung Uk Museum, 2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong)
Details: Staff from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office will introduce the background and content of the activity and share relevant past experiences about the service.
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 3 April 2025 (Thursday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 April 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
