Background:
Since 2011, the Ministry of Culture and the former Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government have been co-organising the “Genesis and Spirit - Intangible Cultural Heritage(ICH)” exhibition series exhibition and demonstration series, with a specific theme and content each time, featuring ICH items from different provinces. Featuring the theme “Treasures of Nature – Extraordinary Hakka”, the ninth exhibition and demonstration series will, through multi-media displays, exhibits, graphics, texts and video screenings in tandem with on-site demonstrations by ICH bearers and interactive experimental activities, showcase Jiangxi Province's remarkable representative items of the national ICH, including Gannan Hakka pounded tea making technique, Jingdezhen handcrafted porcelain technique, Jialu paper umbrella making technique, Xiangdong nuo dance, and Shicheng lantern festivals, taking visitors through an interesting journey to learn about the Jiangxi’s Ganzhou Hakka culture. |

- To introduce the exhibition activities to the participants
- To serve as a bridge of communication between mainland delegations, lecturers, experts, performers and participants, etc.

Location: Exhibition Gallery, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library (66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong)
No.
of volunteers required: 10 persons per service day
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
- Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner
- Form 5 or above
- Priority will be given for those who have working experience in history / culture.
Briefing:
*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.

Location: Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre (Sam Tung Uk Museum, 2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong)
Details: Staff from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office will introduce the background and content of the activity and share past experiences about the service.
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 3 April 2025 (Thursday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 April 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
