Background: The Science Promotion Unit of the Hong Kong Science Museum will organise two booth activities at the Hong Kong Flower Show 2025. These will include the "QK x Flower Show – QK POST Roadshow" and the "QK x Flower Show – Herbarium Pen Workshop". The aim of these activities is to provide the public with the opportunity to learn about science in relation to flowers via roving exhibitions and the making of herbarium pens.
Details:
- To invite the public to visit the exhibition and participate in the workshop
- To assist with venue setup and cleanup, manage participant admission and maintain order
- To prepare and distribute materials for the workshop and assist participants in making the herbarium pens
- To conduct surveys

Time: 9:15 am – 6:30 pm (Including briefing and lunch time. Applicants shall arrive at the gathering point at the entrance of Victoria Park at 9:15 am, details will be announced in confirmation email.)
Location: Science Promotion Unit Stall, Central Lawn, Victoria Park (TBC) No. of volunteers (Max. Capacity): 2 persons per day |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate in simple Putonghua and English is preferred
- Priority will be given to volunteers who have experience in science education or have previously provided volunteer services to the Science Museum
- Able to work outdoors for a prolonged period
- Polite and has good communication skills as well as a good customer service manner
- Form 5 or above
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 27 January 2025 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 20 February 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
