Background: The Hong Kong Space Museum houses two exhibition halls, namely the "Hall of the Cosmos" and the "Hall of Space Exploration". These halls showcase approximately a hundred exhibits with the goal of presenting astronomy and space science in an engaging way.
The Museum invites volunteers to provide fixed-point interpretation services, explaining the fascinating space science behind the highlighted exhibits, ensuring an interesting and educational visit. |
Details:
- Provide fixed-point interpretation services
- Guide and assist visitors in using the exhibits properly
- Provide customer service to visitors, answering enquiries and assisting in crowd control
Date: 16 March 2025 – 29 June 2025 (every Sunday)
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Requirement:

- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English - Polite and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good customer service manner - Form 5 or above (persons who have studied science subjects are preferable) - Volunteers who have attended the briefing session of "Hong Kong Space Museum: Fixed-Point Docent Services" on 11 June 2024, OR are able to attend the service briefing session to be held on 4 March 2025 will be given priority in participating in this service. - Details of the service and exhibit docent manual will be sent to successful applicants via email later. Briefing Except for those who have already participated in the briefing session on 11 June 2024, all successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details. Date: 4 March 2025 (Tuesday) Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Location: Hong Kong Space Museum
Details: Assistant curators from the Hong Kong Space Museum will demonstrate the operation of highlighted exhibits, introduce the interpretation content, and explain the science behind them. Assistant curators will also provide points to note of the museum services. |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 27 January 2025 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 20 February 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
