Background:
The Hong Kong Science
Museum features over 500 exhibits or interactives in permanent and special
exhibitions, allowing the public to understand scientific knowledge through
hands-on experience. To ensure the smooth operation of the exhibition and
enhance the customized experience, the Science Museum is now inviting Museum
Volunteers to assist in introducing the exhibits and helping with the
operation, sharing the scientific principles behind the exhibit highlights.

Date: 3 March 2025 to 30 June 2025, & 1 May 2025 (except non-PH Thursdays)
Time:
1st session: 9:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
2nd session: 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location:
Selective exhibit from the permanent exhibition
(1) “Water-to-Land Transition” from G/F Palaeontology Gallery
(2) “Square Wheel” from G/F Maths Hall
(3) “Build Your Own Roller Coaster” from 3/F Children’s Gallery
(4) “Ball Machine” from 3/F Children’s Gallery
(2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon)
No. of volunteers required: 5 persons per session
*Each volunteer is welcome to attend at least 2 sessions of service
Requirement:
- Fluent in Cantonese and able to communicate in simple Putonghua and English preferred
- Polite with good interpersonal and communication skills and customer service manner
- Form 5 or above

Priority will be given to those who have
qualifications or experience in science or education
Briefing:
*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.
Date: 8 February 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Classroom, G/F and exhibition halls on the G/F and 3/F, Hong Kong Science Museum
Gathering point: Classroom, G/F
Details: (Briefing conducted in Cantonese) An introduction to exhibition background, service content and related techniques.
*Exhibit Operator will be invited to participate in regular training or programme trial sessions.
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 6 January 2025 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 27 January 2025 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
