Background:

The Hong Kong Science
Museum features over 500 exhibits or interactives in permanent and special
exhibitions, allowing the public to understand scientific knowledge through
hands-on experience. To ensure the smooth operation of the exhibition and
enhance the customized experience, the Science Museum is now inviting Museum
Volunteers to assist in introducing the exhibits and helping with the
operation, sharing the scientific principles behind the exhibit highlights.

Date: 26 October 2024 to 5 February 2025, 26 December 2024 (except Thursdays, 29-30 January 2025 )
Time:
1st session: 10:30a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
2nd session: 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location:
Selective exhibits from the special exhibitions:
(1) Scientific Breakthroughs exhibition: 2/F Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong Science Museum
(2) Era of Intelligence exhibition: G/F Special Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong Science Museum
Selective exhibit from the permanent exhibition
(3) Square Wheel from G/F Maths Hall
(2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon)
No. of volunteers required: 3 persons per session
*Each volunteer is required to attend at least 2 sessions of service, include break time
Requirement:
- Fluent in Cantonese and able to communicate in simple Putonghua and English preferred
- Polite with good interpersonal and communication skills and customer service manner
- Form 5 or above

Priority will be given to those who have
qualifications or experience in science or education
Briefing:
*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.
Date: Onsite training will be provided
Time: Please arrive at G/F Docent Room of HKScM. Duty Museum Assistant will provide onsite training on interactive exhibits
Location: G/F Docent Room, Hong Kong Science Museum
Details: (Briefing conducted in Cantonese) An introduction to exhibition background, service content and related techniques.
*Exhibit Operator will be invited to participate in regular training or programme trial sessions.
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 10 October 2024 (Thursday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail at 18 October 2024 (Friday) onwards. The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
