Background: Hong Kong Film Archive is dedicated to acquiring Hong Kong films and related materials, including film prints, video tapes, publicity materials as well as other artefacts and materials etc. for permanent preservation. For collection preservation and enhancing public access purposes, with the support of Conservation Office, Hong Kong Film Archive is now digitising its collections and inviting volunteer to provide assistance in this project.
Details:
- To assist in the arrangement, inspection and cleaning of collection items before and after digitisation
- To assist in handling collection items during digitisation process
- To assist in operating the equipment for digitisation and performing quality checking on digitisation output

Date: 6 November 2024 to 26 February 2025 (Every Wednesday, except 25 December 2024, 1 January 2025 & 29 January 2025)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (around 7 hours, including a briefing and a
lunch break

Location: Hong Kong Film Archive (50 Lei King Road, Sai Wan Ho) No. of volunteers required: 1 person per day |
Requirement:
|
- Fluent in Cantonese, able to read and write Chinese and English - Tidy, meticulous, careful and patient - Experience in serving as a volunteer for the Hong Kong Film Archive or the Conservation Office is preferred - Each volunteer is required to attend at least 2 days of service *briefing of service will be conducted on site

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 21 October 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
