Background: To promote astronomy and space science among students, the Hong Kong Space Museum is offering outreach programme to primary schools in Hong Kong. The target audiences are primary 4 to 6 students. Based on the selection by schools, the activity topic will be one of the following:
- Talk & Demo: Astronaut Spotlight
- Talk & Demo: Rockets 101
- Talk & Demo: Cosmic Journey
- Inflatable Planetarium
Details:
- To assist in the logistics, distribution and collection of the materials
- To guide the students to understand the activity contents
- To assist museum staff to conduct various activities
- To take photo of the activities

3 October (Thursday), 8 October (Tuesday),
17 October (Thursday), 22 October (Tuesday),
31 October (Thursday) 2024
Time:
Afternoon, about 3 hours for each activity
(The service time will be determined upon confirmation with the school.)

Location: 3 October: Po Leung Kuk Luk Hing Too Primary School (Tseung Kwan O) 8 October: Tuen Mun Government Primary School (Tuen Mun) 17 October: Tsing Yi Trade Association Primary School (Tsing Yi) 22 October: Aldrich Bay Government Primary School (Shau Kei Wan) 31 October: Shak Chung Shan Memorial Catholic Primary School (Tsuen Wan) No. of volunteers required: 3-6 persons for each activity |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese
- Friendly, patient and good at teaching students
- Polite with good interpersonal and communication skills
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00nn on 9 September 2024 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 16 September 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
