Background: The "Live: Hong Kong Art Exhibition" brings together 19 artists who are active in Hong Kong's contemporary art scene, ranging from established masters to rising stars. Visitors can enjoy a curated selection of their recent works across various media – including painting, ink art, ceramics, sculpture, video, installation and multimedia – offering a comprehensive showcase of the exceptional creativity and diverse practice of Hong Kong's artistic landscape.


The Museum invites volunteers to assist in the gallery operation and crowd management tasks in the “Live: Hong Kong Art Exhibition” to facilitate visitor experience and help visitors to view the exhibits smoothly.


Details:

-         To monitor gallery operations and assist visitors in appreciating the artworks

-         To provide customer service to visitors, guide and assist visitors in using the exhibits properly and assist in crowd control


Date:  1 October 2026 – 31 December 2026 (Mondays to Wednesdays, Fridays to Sundays, and public holidays)


Time:  

-         1st session: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

-         2nd session: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.


Location: 

Hong Kong Art Gallery, 2/F & 

The Wing (Lower), G/F, 

Hong Kong Museum of Art (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Hong Kong)


No. of volunteers required:  4 persons per session

Requirement: 

-         Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English

-         Interest in contemporary art and new media art is preferred

-         Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner

-         Form 5 or above (experience in art education is preferred)

-         Priority will be given for those who have served as Volunteer for “ Live: Hong Kong Art Exhibition " at Hong Kong Museum of Art

-         Details of the service and reference notes of the exhibitions will be sent to successful applicants via email later


Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 4 September 2026 (Friday).

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 23 September 2026 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
