Background: The workshop aims to help volunteers to learn different categories and behavioral characteristics of children with special educational needs (SEN), acquire skill in handling unexpected situations, and enhance the understanding on special educational needs.

Details:

-         Common Categories and Behavioral Characteristics of SEN: autism spectrum (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD) disorders  

-         Special Circumstances and Handling Methods in the museums

-         Cases Sharing and Discussion

*The training will be conducted in Cantonese.

Date: 23 August 2025 (Saturday)

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Lecture Hall, B/F, Hong Kong Museum of Art

No. of volunteers required: 150 volunteers 

Requirement: 

-         Interested in enhancing the understanding on special educational needs

-         Interested in participating in child-related volunteer services 

Speaker: Ms. Cambi So, Senior Counselor of Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 30 May 2025 (Friday). 

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 30 July 2025 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
