Background: This Mandarin Workshop Advanced Class aims to help volunteers better use Mandarin for communication in a museum environment, enabling them to effectively introduce various museum activities and services to visitors.
Details:
- The workshop will cover the Mandarin communication skills needed for activity introduction and customer service in a museum environment, and explain the application of numbers and measure words in different situations.
- There will be different interactive activities such as Cantonese-Mandarin comparison, group discussion, and listening exercise. Volunteers will learn how to interact with visitors, including greetings and other Q&A techniques.
*Training workshop will be conducted in Cantonese and Mandarin.
*The workshop will be
in hybrid-mode – In-person and live-streaming available.

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location:Activity Room 1, G/F, Hong Kong Museum of History (100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong; next to the Hong Kong Science Museum) No. of volunteers (Max. Capacity): - In-person workshop: 30 volunteers * The workshop will be in hybrid-mode. Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday) .
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants.
The successful
applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before
4 November 2024 (Monday)
