Background: The Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) provides guided tour service for visitors to explore the stories behind the exhibits. HKMH also organises different kinds of education activities for visitors to foster their understanding of history and culture of Hong Kong.  The website of HKMH provides information about its exhibitions and activities, online programmes and other services as well.

Details:

-         To assist in distributing and retrieving the guided tour devices before and after the group visit

-         To assist the registration of guided tour devices, and to demonstrate how to use them

-         To assist in charging the guided tour devices

-         To assist visitors in scanning QR code for audio guide with their own device in the gallery

-         To provide assistance in education workshops

-         To assist in checking the functions of the museum’s website, such as contents and related hyperlinks


Date: 2 July 2026 – 30 September 2026 (Every Monday, Wednesday to Sunday, except public holidays)


Time:  

-         Morning session: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

-         Afternoon session: 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

* Briefing of service will be conducted on site

Location: Hong Kong Museum of History (100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui)

-         Guided Tour Service Counter on 1/F Lobby

-         Exhibition Galleries or Activity Rooms

No. of volunteers required: 1 person per session



Requirement: 

-         Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English

-         Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner

-         Form 5 or above


Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 29 May 2026 (Friday).

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 June 2026 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
