[Registration closed](MVS20250303)Conservation Office: Surface Cleaning for Wooden Objects

Background: The Hong Kong Museum of History collects a large number of wooden artifacts related to ethnology, which need regular cleaning to prevent the buildup of dust on the surface, thus avoiding the breeding of pests and molds.

Details:

-         Assisting in carrying out various cleaning tasks, including using a vacuum cleaner, soft brushes, or soft cloths to remove dust from the artifacts and perform surface cleaning.

-         Taking photographs to document the condition of the artifacts.

Date: Second or third Wednesday of May and June 2025 (Dates to be confirmed later)

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Hong Kong Heritage Museum(1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin)

No. of volunteers required: 2-4 persons 

Requirement: 

-       Fluent in spoken Cantonese

-       During the service time, standing and/or sitting in stool might be required 

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 3 April 2025 (Thursday). 

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 April 2025 (Thursday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately.
