Background: To promote astronomy and space science among students, the Hong Kong Space Museum is offering outreach programme to primary schools in Hong Kong. The target audiences are primary 4 to 6 students. Based on the selection by schools, the activity topic will be one of the following:
- Talk & Demo: All about Astronauts
- Talk & Demo: Rocket 101
- Talk & Demo: En Route to Space
- Inflatable Planetarium
Details:
- To assist in the logistics, distribution and collection of the materials
- To guide the students to understand the activity contents
- To assist museum staff to conduct various activities

Time:
Afternoon, about 3 hours for each activity
(The service time will be determined upon confirmation with the school.)

Location: Primary schools in Hong Kong No. of volunteers required: 3-6 persons for each activity( *Each volunteer is required to attend at least 2 days) |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese
- Friendly, patient and good at teaching students
- Polite with good interpersonal and communication skills
Briefing:
*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.
Date: 24 October 2024 (Thursday)
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Hong Kong Space Museum (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong)
Details: Staff from the Hong Kong Space Museum will introduce the topics and teaching materials of the outreach programme, demonstrate the setup and usage of the inflatable planetarium, and share the past experiences on the outreach programme to schools.
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 21 October 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
