Background: To prepare for the upcoming exhibitions at the Hong Kong Museum of History, Conservation Office needs to mount the exhibits to ensure the safe display of fragile artifacts
Details:
- Assist in preparing paper boards for supporting fragile paper artifacts

Assist in preparing other
mounting materials for paper-based artifacts, such as tapes, mesh tapes,
V-mount clips, and Velcro
Date: Thursdays from November 2024 to February 2025 (Dates to be confirmed later)
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Conservation laboratory at the Hong Kong Museum of History (2/F, 100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui) No. of volunteers required: 4 volunteers per session |
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate
- Able to use a paper cutter and other cutting tools skillfully and safely
- Must attend a briefing cum training session in November (about 4 hours, Dates to be confirmed later)
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 21 October 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
