Background: Hong Kong residents can buy a variety of fresh fish at fish markets and wet markets. How much do you know about local fish species? And how can we bring out their natural flavours through proper handling and cooking techniques?
The Science Promotion Unit of the Hong Kong Science Museum has invited Mr. Keith Lai, a fish specialist, to introduce his latest book “Hong Kong Market Sea Fish”. Participants will have the opportunity to handle fresh chilled fish, and learn about fish anatomy and characteristics through demonstrations and guidance from the speaker.

- To assist with venue setup and cleanup, manage participant admission and maintain order, and provide help to participants throughout the programme - To conduct questionnaire surveys

Session 2: 4:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. (Including briefing)

No. of volunteers (Max. Capacity): 5 persons per session |
Requirement:
- Priority will be given to volunteers who have experience in science education or previously provided volunteer services to Science Museum
- Fluent in Cantonese and able to communicate in English preferred
- Polite and has good communication skills as well as good customer service manner
- Form 5 or above
- Priority will be given to those who submit applications for more than
one session
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 23:59 pm on 1 October 2024 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 21 October 2024 (Monday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
