Background: “ICH Workshop: Dough Figurine Crafting Technique” introduces the five domains of Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). Through hands-on experience in creating panda dough figurines, volunteers will deepen their knowledge of traditional craftsmanship, and enhance their awareness of the transmission of ICH.

Details:

-         Learn about the five domains of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hong Kong: oral traditions and expressions, performing arts, social practices, rituals and festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe, and traditional craftsmanship.

-         On-site workshop to create panda dough figurines.

*The training will be conducted in Cantonese

Date: 18 October 2025 (Saturday)


Time:  

Session 1: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM; or

Session 2: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM; or

Session 3: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM  

Location: Education Studio, Ground Floor, Hong Kong Heritage Museum (1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin, Hong Kong)

No. of volunteers required: 100 volunteers (approximately 33-34 per session) 

Requirement: 

-         Interested in learning about Intangible Cultural Heritage

-         Interested in participating in volunteer services related to Intangible Cultural Heritage

Speaker: Representative from Hulu Culture


Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 26 August 2025 (Tuesday). 

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 2 October 2025 (Thursday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
