Background: We are currently experiencing the peak of solar activity, making it the perfect time to observe sunspots! Join us to view the sun's dynamic surface through professional solar telescopes. We will provide solar filters and guidance on safe observation methods.

Time: 12:00 n.n. - 3:00 p.m.
(Including 30 minutes briefing time and 30 minutes clean up time; activity time: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.)
Location: Salisbury Garden, Tsim Sha Tsui
No. of volunteers required: 4 persons
Requirement:

- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English preferred - Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manner - Form 5 or above - Volunteers who have attended the “MVS ── Induction Training Programme: Hong Kong Space Museum” on 12 November 2024 or the briefing session of “Hong Kong Space Museum: Exhibit Assistant” on 4 March 2025 or the Hong Kong Space Museum's "Solar Catcher" activity on 19 April 2026 will be given priority in participating in this service. - Required to attend the briefing and preparation session to familarise with the service details |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 4 September 2026 (Friday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 7 October 2026 (Wednesday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
