Background: Oil Street Art Space (Oi!) has been actively examining the possibility of showcasing art in the community, aspiring to create an art oasis in the city. Our latest project, "Oi! OnSite: Have a Tree Day", invites Hong Kong artist UUendy Lau to showcase the large-scale mural and interactive art installations at Oi! Deck, drawing creative inspiration from trees, flowers and birds at Oi!.


*Volunteers will be stationed at the outdoor (covered) Deck area, take rest in an indoor space (Oi! Lounge) when necessary. 


Details:

-         To introduce the project and artworks to visitors;

-         To host fixed-point guided tours;

-         To assist the operation of interactive display and public programmes;

-         To conduct visitor survey; and

-         To provide accessibility support.
 

Date:  1 October 2026 – 31 December 2026 (Tuesdays to Sundays and Public Holidays)


Time:  

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

-          Afternoon session: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday

-         Morning session: 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

-         Afternoon session: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Location: 

Oi! Deck, Oil Street Art Space (Oi!),

12 Oil Street, North Point, Hong Kong


No. of volunteers required: 1 person for each session

Requirement: 

-         Fluent in spoken Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin and English is a plus.

-         Polite, good interpersonal and communication skills as well as good customer service manners.

-         Completed Secondary 5 (or equivalent) education level or above.

-         Preference given to volunteers with experience as a docent/ambassador/customer service in art/exhibition-related workplaces.

-         Preference given to volunteers who have served at Oil Street Art Space.


Briefing:

*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.

Date: 28 September 2026 (Monday)

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Location:  Oil Street Art Space (Oi!), 12 Oil Street, North Point, Hong Kong

Details: The curatorial team from Oi! will introduce the project and the artworks, as well as the background of Oi!, volunteers’ duties and operation.

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 4 September 2026 (Friday).

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 16 September 2026 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
