(MVS20260813)Hong Kong Museum of Art: Exhibit Assistant for the "Muwen Tang Gallery of Cantonese and Export Art" exhibition(Oct - Dec 2026)

Background: The Hong Kong Museum of Art’s Muwen Tang Gallery of Cantonese and Export Art exhibition features an interactive exhibit on the medium of reverse glass paintings. Visitors will be able to “create” their own paintings on a touch screen. 


The Museum invites volunteers to introduce the interactive exhibit, and assist visitors in using the exhibit.


Details:

-         To guide and assist visitors in using the exhibits properly

-         To briefly introduce to visitors the background of the Muwen Tang donation, the medium of reverse glass paintings, and highlight artworks

-         To provide customer service to visitors, answer enquiries and assist in crowd control

-         Point visitors to the pamphlet booth


Date:  1 October 2026 – 31 December 2026 

           (Monday to Wednesday, Friday to Sunday and public holidays)


Time:  

-         Session 1: 10:00 – 13:00

-         Session 2: 13:00 – 16:00

-         Session 3: 16:00 – 18:00


Location: 

Muwen Tang Gallery of Cantonese and Export Art, 3/F 

Hong Kong Museum of Art (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Hong Kong)


No. of volunteers required:  1 person per session

Requirement: 

-         Fluent in spoken Cantonese/ Mandarin/ English

-         Polite and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good customer service manner

-         Form 5 or above 

-         Details of the service and notes of the exhibition will be sent to successful applicants via email


Briefing

*All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details.

Date: 24 September 2026 (Thursday)

Time: 18:30 – 19:30

Location: China Trade Art Gallery, 3/F 

Hong Kong Museum of Art (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong)

Details:  Assistant curators will demonstrate the operation of the exhibit, and introduce the medium of reverse glass paintings. Assistant curators will also provide points to note for museum services.

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 4 September 2026 (Friday).

Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 16 September 2026 (Wednesday).  The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
