Background:
The Pineapple Bun is a renowned Hong Kong specialty, and the "Pineapple Bun Making Technique" has been inscribed on Hong Kong's Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory. To complement the "Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month 2026", the Science Promotion Unit will organise a time-limited "Pineapple Bun Keyring DIY Workshop". Participants will use flour clay to craft their own pineapple bun keyring, while learning about the composition of flour and its role in forming the bread dough.
Details:
To assist in the smooth running of the event, duties include : - Guiding and assisting participants in making the Pineapple Bun Keyrings - Managing crowd control and assisting with admission arrangements - Handling simple enquiries - Taking event photographs - Conducting surveys - Introducing the scientific principles behind the activity to participants - Assisting with venue set up (may involve moving tables, chairs and other furniture) |

Requirement:
- Fluent in Cantonese; basic Putonghua/English preferred
- Polite, with good communication skills and service attitude
- Form 5 education or above
- Preference will be given to those with science education experience or previous volunteering experience at the Hong Kong Science Museum

Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 24 April 2026 (Friday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 13 May 2026 (Wednesday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
