Background: The Hong Kong Space
Museum features two exhibition halls,
namely the "Hall of the Cosmos" and the "Hall of Space
Exploration", which together showcase approximately a hundred exhibits. The Museum also regularly organises special
exhibitions on various themes, aiming to introduce the visitors to the
knowledge of astronomy and space science.
The Museum invites volunteers to provide fixed-point interpretation services, explain the fascinating science behind the highlighted exhibits, and ensure that visitors have a deeper understanding of the exhibition.

- To provide fixed-point interpretation services
- To explain the science behind the exhibits and how to use them properly
- To provide customer service to visitors and answer enquiries
Date: 5 October 2025 – 28 December 2025 (every Sunday)
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Location: Exhibition halls of Hong Kong Space Museum (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui)
No. of volunteers required: 3 persons
Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English - Polite and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good customer service manner - Form 5 or above (persons who have studied science subjects are preferable) - Volunteers who have attended the briefing session of "Hong Kong Space Museum: Fixed-Point Docent Services" on 11 June 2024 or 4 March 2025 will be given priority in participating in this service. - Details of the service and reference notes will be sent to successful applicants via email. Volunteers should study the notes prior to their service days. |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 26 August 2025 (Tuesday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 17 September 2025 (Wednesday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
