Background: Hong Kong Science Museum (HKScM) has hosted the HK SciFest every spring since 2014. Since 2021, the HK SciFest has become a biennial event and the next SciFest will be held from 18 April to 27 April 2025 with the theme of “Local Contributions in Science”. During the SciFest, HKScM will collaborate with government departments, institutions, and science organisations to provide interesting activities to elevate public awareness and interest in science and technology. The programmes are diverse, including science bazaar, visits and guided tours, science workshops, science lectures and forums, film and post-screening talks, fun experiment classes, and science lectures.
Details:
To assist in running the SciFest programmes through the following duties:
- Offering assistance for the participants
- Assisting in crowd control and maintaining order during the activities
- Answering simple enquiries
- Taking photos of the programmes
- Conducting surveys
- Assisting in venue set up (such as relocating tables and chairs may be required)

Requirement:
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese. Able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English is preferred
- Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a good customer service manner
- Form 5 or above

Priority will be given to those who have a science background
and experience in organising activities
Briefing All
successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more
about the service details. Date: 9 April 2025 (Wednesday) Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Location: Hong Kong Science Museum Details: Staff from the Hong Kong Science Museum will introduce the background, activities, service details, points to note, and the related information of HK SciFest. The briefing session will include a tour to various venues in the museum. *The briefing will be conducted in Cantonese. |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 27 January 2025 (Monday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 27 March 2025 (Thursday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
