Background: "Science in the Public Service" (SIPS) is a joint campaign organised by government bureaux/departments and other organisations to promote their scientific work and how technological applications are being applied to the provision of public services.
2026 marks the 20th anniversary of SIPS. Multiple government departments and institutions will organise a “Science and Technology Fair” at the Hong Kong Science Museum, setting up over 20 booths to introduce how they use science to improve people's livelihood. The exhibits will include virtual reality interactive displays, robotic dogs, drones, showcases of science teaching materials, and more.

Requirement: - Fluent in spoken Cantonese. Able to communicate with visitors in simple Putonghua and English is preferred - Polite and has good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a good customer service manner - Form 5 or above

activities Briefing: *All successful applicants are required to attend the briefing session to learn more about the service details. Date: 23 September 2026 (Wednesday) Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Location: Special Exhibition Hall, G/F, Hong Kong Science Museum Details: Staff from the Hong Kong Science Museum will introduce the background, activities, service details, points to note, and the related information of "Science in the Public Service". The briefing session will include a tour to the Science and Technology Fair in the museum. (The briefing will be conducted in Cantonese.) |
Registration: Please submit the completed online registration form by 12:00 nn on 7 August 2026 (Friday).
Notes: If the number of applications received exceeds the quota, the MVS Secretariat will draw lots to select the participants. The successful applicants will be notified of the result by e-mail on or before 19 August 2026 (Wednesday). The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email separately. Activities are subject to change, please refer to the Secretariat’s announcements as final.
